I've never owned a B44. I do own a DEX410R. I can tell you that the reason I bought it is because of the design, durability, and ease of maintenance. These 4wd buggies seem to be modeled close to the 8th scale buggy platform where the B44 seems to me modeled from the on-road side of things.
I know 4wd requires a stricter build and maintenance program. It's very important to me to be able to completely run through it in a half-day. I'd need a dedicated weekend to take care of the B44 well. Simple as that. In the performance department either one is very capable on any track with the right guy on the wheel.
