Robert,
Thanks for the info, yes it is a Helios, both Hitecs are brand new (less than 3 races old) the Spektrum mod and rec is 1 day old.
I've cleaned the pins for the module, with acholol, just rechecked the wiring, and downloaded the manual soI cango through the VR function.
We have a full weekend of racing this weekend, and just borrowed a M11x, I'll go through it during the week, but thanks again, and I'll keep you posted

Try performing the function Adjust VR to start with. If you can't finish this function then you will have to send in your Tx for service as the pot (steering or throttle) may be bad.
If you can finish this function and still have problems, then it's hard to say if it is the servos or your spektrum brand system. Check the pins on the transmitter where the module plugs into. Make sure that they are not lose (move) or damaged. If they are then you will have to send the Tx in for service.
If everything checks out ok, then pull the receiver and the rest of the electronics out of the car and see if you get the same problem. I would start from there and change out one thing at a time.
If you pull the electronics out of the car and there is no problem, then you might have the servo lead wires or battery wires crossing over your Rx antenna and canceling out the signal. In this case, re-route your wires so they do not cross over the antenna wire for the Rx.
