I like the Tamiya metal shaft that comes with the F60, no bending there!

Yes I was thinking the same question, we run:

Tamiya Rubber: soft rear and medium (F60 kit) in front. it works well (carpet and below 60 degrees not so well)

Schmitzu (see TQ or the UF1 web site for part numbers) good everyplace. Alex N. won the Camarillo big UF1 final with schmitzu soft rears and Tamiya mediums.
About the old believe that the F103 is faster than the F104. Not any more, on rubber/carpet F104 is fastest (see TQ track times for the current SOCAL winter F1 series)
