I think at the track I run at (rcplus) it would be very difficult to be quick enough with the transition from throttle to brake and to continue to be fast. I'm not saying it can't be done, but from watching some of the fast guys, all they are using is drag brake, and are never actually using any manual brakes. I could see using brakes on a larger track.
True, but you have more control of the brakes (How and were the heat is applied.) For RCP I can see drag brakes being easier, but big outdoor tracks have small in fields, and even with 4.5's very few of us run drag brakes. If you need more drag, ask Ron if you can step up in rotor size. Some tracks don't care, and bigger rotors cause more natural (heat free) drag brake
