I try not to use them to start with and some of my rcs that were using them on hinge pins, I drilled and threaded for grub screws to hold the hinge pins now so they're no longer needed. But I've still got several that use them.
If I don't have spare eclips, I put the whole thing in a big ziploc bag if I can so when it pops off, it doesn't disappear, it stays in the bag. I use a jeweler's flat bladed screwdriver to coax them off. Just get in one of the spaces an pry up slightly.
Don't really care for them either.
