I found that the rolled lip of a balloon works well, and lasts longer than the scrunche or rubberband methods. (I buy black balloons and cut off the end you blow up and use that oring shaped piece as a throttle return spring)

Problem with that method is you end up flooding your engine or at a min introducing a bunch of extra unburnt fuel to the crank case. ALSO your going to be pushing dirt/ contaminants farther into your airfilter that way. If your engine is at IDLE its safe and painless enough to bump the flywheel with your finger.
