I put those inner pivot balls in a dremel and slowly sanded them with 1200 grit. Butter! However, be careful because you can easily sand off too much material.

Use a spare arm and a spare ball to test with, sand down the ball in small increments until you find the right size (sorry I don't remember what the measurement was, sold my car) and then replicate on the rest of the pivot balls.
