Looks like six f1's raced on Saturday at the Coliseum and four or five f1's were seen at the Track either practising or under construction. The cars at the Track were on rubber, not sure about the Coliseum.
The Track had a new configuration, long, narrow with u-turns, 90 degree turns and a button holed slot leading onto the sweeper to the back straight. I had practiced at the Coliseum last Sunday and messed my car up and had to start from scratch. The Coliseum asphalt is so utterly different than The Track. But with some serious wrenching got my lap times down from awful 22's to my best of the day a 15.827. A mod sedan was turning 12 second lap times and fast17.5's were turning 14 second laps for comparison.
It was not cold. At the Track air temp was 64, and dry, 43% humidity so it strange that the tuning took so much time.
Looks like the Charity race at the Coliseum is the place to be next week. Steve will be there so you know the competition level will be high and F1 minnows like my Force india car will get smoked but that's okay. Let's see a big f1 grid before the holiday's kick in, bring your f1 with whatever tire, motor or esc you have and find out if you and drive like Vettle!
But Mimi at the Track received a big box of F104 parts and she has a Lotus F1 kit for sale. She also has F1 wheels, tires, and bodies in stock, so stop by her place on your way up I -270.
Mimi also had a unique item for F1 enthusiasts living the "Constructor's dream": a new Exotec F1 chassis. Looked like a sweet bit of kit, first new constructor I've seen in a while. Has anybody raced one out there?
