1. Try installing the screw in from the other side of the "carb wedge", then gently tap on the screw. This will drive the wedge out of the crankcase. The second wedge is then easily accessed and removed.
2. A small Hemostat or micro electrical pliers makes working with the clips much easier. Be very careful when installing them, they are spring steel and love to fly to invisible places.
3. I have a small "bench" I made. Large enough to put a small coffee can on. It's on legs and has a 540 size motor fastened underneath. I installed a large pinion gear with all the teeth ground off on one side to cause an imbalance.
When I switch on the motor it vibrates, causing my coffee can to agitate the cleaning solution in the can. I use chlorine free brake cleaner. Some cleaning fluids may cause O-rings to swell.
