Motor are not rated for a motor, but for amp draw. Based on assumptions from what an average 14-turn draws and in a variety of vehicles they put a "safe" rating. You can blow an ESC with a 19-turn if it's geared improperly. It's all about amp draw. I'm sure looking at the size of the track you probably never really lift or accelerate from a standstill often enough to create a "high" draw scenario.

You will more than likely be safe with the 12-turn. Just gear it accordingly.
