Are the plastic rear hubs on a standard M-05 known to be weak?

I seem to have bent my right rear (at least, I assume I bent it because the car ran in a relatively straight line last week ) - it has a good 3 degrees more toe in it than intended!

Can I replace it with a new plastic one, confident that it will last more than one race meeting this time - or should I invest in the aluminium versions sooner rather than later?
