Dear RC Racers
As the Tamiya TRF 415 kits are quite new to us here in Australia, and as I have had quite a lot of feed back regarding these kits, its only best that we forward on our comments and considerations that people should make before buying this kit. So far 3 issues have risen that people should be concerned about
:
1. Regarding the DIA 3mm x 12mm long threaded grub screws that screw through the front and rear arms, the holes to which you have to screw these into are VERY tight, and the holes require slight drilling out so as to accommodate the grub screw. As these suspension arms are high strength ABS plastic, we have already encountered splitting of the plastic if these holes aren't oversized.
2. To avoid damage to the Blue anodised ball joints during attachment to various plastic components, it is recommended that a screw of similar size and thread is used to "pre-thread" the hole before the installation of the anodised part. This will dramatically reduce scratching made by the Tamiya spanner to these parts.
3. The TRF 415 kit does not include a pinion motor gear! You will need to purchase one of these separate to the kit.
We hope the above information is helpful to potential buyers, and current buyers assembling the kit, alike.
Kind regards,
The Manager
