The sleeve timing is slightly different the the EVO3 also the case volume changed. They built the engine to give a better mid to top speed without losing bottom end power the engine was known for. Fuel use is hard to say because the finger on the throttle determines fuel consumption as well as clutch and all the other variables. Picco has not released a 9 port for the fuel consumption reasons. There are also 2 versions of the EVO4 other then the newest that has the short heatsink and combustion chamber combo.
