Another consideration: A lot of engines work well for the first 2 gallons. So, you get a lot of those "HEY! ______ Engine is SOOO SMOOTH, GREAT POWERBAND, DIALED!!!!" comments for nearly any engine. What you want is an engine that still runs well 6,7,8 gallons in. Those are the ones that have the best value in the long run.
So true... any engine is good for a gallon or two. But an engine that hits its prime from 3-8 gallons is getting more rare everyday
