It just lets you see the charging process on your PC. Voltage versus time and mybe cumulative mah input and maybe the individual lipo cell voltages. Its just graphical.

I went thru this with my Hyperion charger and it was neat the 1st one or two times, but I've never used it again. I had to do this with my charger to get the firmware updates, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Its not going to allow you to control anything from the PC.
