Default Help with my PCB.

I need help with a malfunction. Bear with me, I was having a clean out the other day and came across my old lot of RC cars. One of which is a blast from the past, a RadioShack Flashtron II I recieved as a present quite some time ago. I used to be right into RC cars, boats and planes when I was younger, and this particular car was my favourate, I cherished it. But since starting further education everything was put aside. I really want to restore this beast to its former glory.

Now, the problem is, I get no forward or backward movement. Upon inspection of the PCB I see sand everywhere from its last outing on a wet beach. (I was young and assumed a liberal coating of vaseline would provide sufficent protection.) Now I get full propotional steering, left and right, but zero back/forwards.

Now I dont know my electrics but when I try to accelerate or reverse, theres a very audible click. I assume this is one of the relays. I can feel the right relay working, but the left does not make any noise or vibration. To my limited knowledge I assume the relay is fried. Or could the board be in need of a clean. This is where I need help, in cleaning board, determining any other possible failures Or a suitble replacment for the relay. Ive been searching for a week straight for this relay, Which from the information printed on it, is a 'Millionspot H500S03 - 2 -C'. But can only find bulk suppliers, and I only need one. I have found the part number from the radio shack parts catalogue but im sure you are aware is useless considering this car went out of production years ago.

To sum it up, I need tips on how to clean sand ridden geasy PCB. Help finding the relay or a relay of the same specs. And suggestions of other possible faults causing a lack of forward and reverse movement.

Ive attached pictures of the relay and board if they are any use.
