My inentions are not to Jack your thread, but to offer perspective as a fellow seller, it used to be 50-75%. (depending on like new, avrg use, etc). Of retail on the kit depending on use, and if you upgrade you'll be lucky to see 25% of those costs added to the kit, This was a good place to start. Still is a good place to start I suppose, the state of our current economy has forced most to budget, so as a seller and selling something that for most is a want( adding a new class or vehicle to ones line up). You must offer a deal to move it.
