I would agree with that. It mostly only happens when running on a hard packed track with sharp edges. You could take the skid on and off for different conditions, but I've just stopped using them. After all what is $100 anyway.
Chassis' don't need to be replaced that often even without skids unless you're running on a very abrasive/rocky surface.
