If you run electrics with nitros, the only thing you need to do to make it more competitive is to make sure the electrics weigh the same as an average nitro with a full tank of fuel. The lower weight of the nitros after they use some fuel will compensate a little for the elctrics qucik starts.
Granted, this will only minimize the difference but it should make things a little closer.
