I myself am running 5S with 1700 KV tekin. Where did you get your metal pinions 28T to 30T.. are they mod 1 pitch?
Thanks for the link to the kv guide but the problem is I just got the motor and I've already got 12 packs of 4S 3700-4000mah packs (from my 8S planes and heli's). As for the metal pinions, they're ones that I found at my LHS that were made for various other vehicles. The good thing is this motor (CC/Neu 1518 1800kv) can handle 1500 continous watts and 3000 watt peaks

I just got finished doing some test runs in the street and it's just INSANE! I'm thinking the 30T is gonna be too much so I'm gonna start with a 26T tommorrow at the track. BTW, I'm using an old 100amp air ESC until I get my new MMM ESC this week. Got timing set for 4-6 pole and soft throttle launch.
