4 pole has more torque which is better for 8th scales. I am pretty sure there is more heat not significant if geared right for 2. A 2 pole generally has more rpm compared to the same exact motor that would have 4 poles.
I think thats it...
For your car I think you should be fine. Just get the gearing right.
