Running 10.5 on low to medium grip carpet, I like Magentas all the way around. 2xpink fronts with pink rears also works very well and others have had good luck with black/yellow. If the track was higher bite, we would probably need a harder front like lilacs or purples.
17.5 on high bite, you're going to want to take some grip out of the car and will need something different.

If you all are running in Oxnard/Camarillo, it's pretty safe to say you're running on asphalt? I'm from Oxnard myself and can't think of any indoor tracks nearby is why I say.
Wingracer is giving you good setups for carpet and may not work for what you are running. Not trying to say that what Wingracer told you is erroneous, they may work but, you should probably specify that you are running asphalt so that people who typically run that application can provide you with the best information for your problem.
How are things in Oxnard? I look at the weather on weather.com for Oxnard and it makes me want to puke because the weather there is so good and it sucks so bad here.
