Default Bottom end.....

Coming from a string of p5's I will admit I was a bit worried that the FMS would be mostly mid to top end, but after listening to other racers, it had excellent reviews, I decided to give it a try. Wow. It really depends on so many variables.

Pipe Header combo 9853 short round header wow, 9886 a bit smoother w same header....

Gearing, my 808 is just slightly higher than say a mugen with stock gears on both. A 13 tooth bell on a Mugen buggy is all you would need on an fms, but a p5 could use a 14 tooth just to smooth out the torque and add some top end. My 808 has a 16 tooth stock which sounds high, but actually it's just slightly high due to the other gear ratios in the driveline. So what I'm saying is the pipe could stay the same in buggy and just changine one tooth on the bell would tailor the power to the size of the track and the engine better than changing pipes in some cases....

Fuel 25% byrons is all I need. I add 30ml of castor oil to make the total oil content around 11.5% up from 11%.....I really never saw the need to up the nitro, and I don't like low oil content. 9% is just pushing the engine too hard...

Driving style Some guys drive smooth and careful, well kinda, and could use a monster like the FMS to push it a bit more, or a more aggressive gear and pipe combo, or larger venturi... and some guys might drive punched all day long. I think a p5 with a 9886 pipe and short round header might work better for them to keep the tires on the ground and reduce wheelspin, or a plus 4 with a filled crank....

So before they blame the engine, lets listen to the vast majority who absolutely love the FMS in buggy and truggy.

I bet an FMS Monty tuned version would make the car fly into the stratosphere.....I heas nothing but great things about his engines, and he always knows just what to say....Your advice is much appriciated by the Nova fans.....

Keep motoring on Monty......
