We run esc timing on 15 degrees and DRSS on 5 or . Lower timing gives more punch/torque.
If you getting hot its most likely overgeared.

Thanks guys... Like I said.. being new to mod, im not exactly sure if im over-geared or not. I just went by what the motor manual suggested, and what was suggested to me at the track by a couple of other experienced mod guys. I have my 4.5 geared at 9.4 (lrp x-12)
