Here are the basics of what happens. I switch to model a from model b using the know and buttons. I set the radio down and then turn the car on. But nothing is working correctly. I pick the radio up and look through the settings. Weird things are in the throttle menu. The only setting I ever change in the throttle menu is "Reverse". and that is only if I am using an ESC that needs it. But the throttle trim and subtrim with be set to 50% forward. The throttle speed will have all kinds of weird numbers. for throw and return.
Then in the steering menu, the speed will be set turn was at 50% and then some odd values and return was set to 5% and also had weird values. I am sure there was a few other oddities.
Now the really odd thing is that if I just adjust all the setting back to normal, the radio still does not act correctly. Throttle seems to work ok, but I usually will have to reset the speed control. But steering just acts like there is a dead spot in the wheel. Usually the as soon as the wheel on the radio is turned the wheels on the car move. But no matter what I change in the steering menu it would not work.
So reset that memory spot. Then everything worked like it should. Well except for the fact that I had to put all my trims back in and reverse the throttle again.
I just want to know if anyone else has had this happen. I have had it happen like I said twice. The first time I thought maybe my kids had been messing with it. But this time I know for sure, because I had been running two vehicle testing some setup out and then one just went crazy. Another note is that the other time this happened it was on a different memory slot. I only have 6 models stored right now in the radio.
I wonder if the radio's memory is bad.
I have seen this happen to two other transmitters. Some how the EPPROM has become corrupted. You will have to send it in for service to get corrected. Sometimes changing to a different model memory will fix the problem, but then you have a model memory that you can't use and that isn't acceptable. But in your case, it's more then one model number so I would suggest sending it in for service.
For KO America, our service repairs will stop from today until Aug 3rd as I am leaving for the IFMAR world championships in Houston tomorrow. Unless you will be in the Houston area then I can perform the repair there.
