I use a jewelry cleaner I bought at walmart for 6 bucks it works great. Plus my wife is happy when I clean her rings all of the time. I use it to clean my bearings and use denatured alcohol in it. If you want your bearings really really clean use Acetone. It will eat anything thats in there including carpet fibers.
