Could very well be different compounds, but keep in mind that carpet tracks have a fairly dynamic race surface.
Even if you do everything the same, the car may change due to the track getting more glued in, Especially with JTG.
CRC rubber and Jaco rubber is the same. The only difference is rear wheel offset, a few shims and you're right there. The CRC rim is stiffer, and IMO more consistent due to the stiffness.
