your Brake disc's pending which one's you have should last a long time with little maintenace needed....If you have the updated black discs Dont worry about replacing ANY time soon....If you have the yellow fiber discs, look into the new updated one's....You'll thank yourself later.
As far as the pads...i check them every once in a while and make sure the brake cam itself hasn't worn too bad into the backside of the bad and also take note of the actual holes wanting to round up over time.....Its imo wise to have a spare.
