It is ALWAYS recommended that you change the conrod when you install a new p/s (including when you get one resized) Rods take way more stress when having to push through a tight top fit and it may tip an old rod over the edge. STS rods are cheap, just replace it and you can feel safer. I replace rods in my Novas after around 2 Gallons of fuel just to be safe. They only run like $15.
