The engines are cold blooded and typically like to run between 200* and 230*
Also yes the engine do take longer then a OS engine to warm up. I start my engine with 3 mins to go in the race b4 mine. It's not like a os where you can fire it up, clear it out, and throw it on the track. YOU HAVE TO TUNE THIS ENGINE WHEN IT'S UP TO OPERATING TEMP. (200* +) that means no box tuning during warm up.. biggest thing is having the idle set correctly at 1-1/4 turns from closed, and tuning the hsn first, then once you get the top ripping good, then you start leaning the LSN 1 click on the laser etching at a time till it makes good power and runs consistent. if you continue to struggle and would like to send the engine in for inspection we offer customer service.
