Right on! Really the only test is on the track. Specs won't tell you if a Servo is smooth (Airtronics are not), fast under load, or durable.
The specs on all servos and most RC gear are made up marketing BS. They may actually meet thoses specs, but that info is nearly worthless when you dig a little deeper. Those specs are with no load.
A 7955 casn often move faster than a high speed servo like the 7940. Just put your weight down on your car to load those front tires and turn that wheel. I learned that factoid from giant scale airplanes.
Servos get slower when load is applied. The 7955, 7950, don't slow down as much thanks to all that torque.
