Lightbulb inter club challenges

what do you guys think of this idea.

all club presidents agree to put aside a agreed amount of money to then, at the end of the year fund a big inter club challenge race meet.

during the normal points season each quarter period clubs hold a inter club qualification day. only club members can enter and during this day club members race for points which are acumulated (like a championship) towards deciding which club member is the local track champ.

from here all members are ranked and the top 10 (just a example) then at the end of the year, after 4 inter club challenge qualification rounds have occured these club winners get together with the club winners of other local tracks. (eg; moorebank, mingara, illawarra, brookvale, penrith, canberra, tamworth and any other nitro clubs that there may be in nsw) for a inter club challenge.

with the money each club prez has put aside a local netball court is hired out and used as the "neutral ground" to hold the end of year event. this allows all club participants to have a equal chance of winning.

from hear a nsw, qld, sa, wa, nt, tas, vic interclub champ is crowned, and with the money that each club put aside to organise the end of year event (and with the help of sponsorship possibly) the winner is flown expenses payed to participate at the touring car world titles. (if they wish to participate). this would increase australian driver participating and help promote the sport within oz and around the world. (due to greater participant numbers).

sponsorship could be aranged so that each club is sponsored by a hobby store, hardware store or whatever. sponsorship could be attracted by outlining the exposure each store will have during the racing year and at the culmination of the challenge.

local council could be encouraged to participate by promoting the year long event in the local paper. the council which agrees to hold the end of year interclub challenge for each state would then promote it again in the local paper. positives for participating councils would be increased spending in the local community by visiting racers from around each state.

positives:
-increase club members. (due to the fact that only members are elligable for the end of year race meet and only members can participate in the qualification rounds.

-inter club rivalry. more competition for club members

-communication between club members prez etc

-increased exposure to 200mm nitro

-increased exposure to 200mm tourer world titles

-increased council participation

-interstate rivalries i always knew sydney was better than melbourne.

-sponsorship for local tracks

-greater exposure to sponsors

-possibility of sponsors promoting entire event if they are a large company. eg hardwarehouse could quite posibly pay for the end of year event if they were shown the positive image a community e event such as this one would bring them. (keeping kids of the street bla bla bla)
