Yes just remove the power wire from the esc connector, not the ground wire too. Then Either plug in the external bec or SEPERATE battery. I you pull off the main pack balance plug you MUST use the MOST NEGATIVE two cells for running reciever or there will be sparks flying. I know!!!

EDIT: BTW, it does make the servo's FAST when using 2 cell unreged.
