short course build
I am building a sc18 for the short course nationals at RC Madness. I started with a rc18t2 kit and will run the narrow buggy wheels all around increasing ground clearance. This should help put the truck close to the slash and the duratrax trucks in being able to handle large jumps and ruts. I will power this with Novak three-80 sensored motor for smooth power to the ground and Tekin RS speed control, with this combo I can tune the motor for track conditions. The Tekin is small enough to fit nicely, just like it does on my Scalpel chassis. I will add a Airtronic servo, hot racing steering assembly, associated long axle ends attached to cvds. Also installed FT rc18 rear shocks
to both ends, this helps with ground clearance and handling roughh tracks. I will have to cut out the wheel wells to accomendate the larger wheels. With the larger wheels the starting pinion size goes to 10 or 11 from 13 for the bigger wheels. All the parts should be here by the end the week so test and tune can start asap, July is just around the corner. Will post picture of chassis as soon as it is rolling. thanks. feel free ask question.
