the most important thing for racing is a 2s lipo!!! thats a must have! but the other stuff may vary on your track.... we were runing associated 50wt oil(we used big bore shocks.... but it doesnt matter) , the stock traxxas tires worked fine for us(will vary on tracks), 1.5 degrees camber in front, 2.5 degrees camber in rear, for the ride height... shafts level in the front and shafts just below level in rear.

if your willing to spend money go with a sensored motor and a mamba max pro esc.... then you will see the true racing side of a rustler... but for you just get your race feel of the car first!=]
