Any FWD drive car will lose the back end if you shut off power while it is loaded up (just look at full sized Touring Car racing).
Even on my road car, if I feel the front wants to understeer in a corner I apply a little more power, this pulls it through the corner and actually makes thecorner feel less tight. Same logic applies to these little FWD cars, you brake coming in to a corner whilst straight, and as soon as you feel the car is turning you apply the power (smoothly) and it will corner like on rails.
