Yeah I got that! The aluminum shoes I was running at the time were definitely old and I know that. I've never had reliability problems with aluminum. Just making a point about how I'm hoping that the composites come on smooth like a slightly slipping aluminum clutch.
And I'm just making the point (along with others) that losi composite shoes will last a few tanks at most. Who cares if they're smooth if you're spending 15-20 bucks on shoes every 2-3 tanks. Most of us racers cannot afford that, even if we can buy near cost.
If you have too much motor for the particular track condition, the clutch is not meant as a primary way of tuning it. Does that make sense????
