I just bought a new ESC and a new Receiver for a DB01 I just bought.

I'm completely new to building RC cars(i've only ever bought second hand) and so this is the first kit I have built.

Now the Receiver has connections for Chan 1, Chan 2 and Batt.

This new ESC(A Moped Bravo v16r) I have only has a Connection for one of the channels.

My Other car has a Tamiya ESC and it has another connection to "Batt" of the receiver.

How come this new ESC doesnt have this "Batt" connection?

Battery pack plugs into the ESC (The 2 heavy gauge wires). ESC plugs into the receiver on the throttle channel (channel 1 or channel 2 on your receiver) and powers the receiver through that one plug. The batt port on the receiver is if you are running a receiver pack like you would for nitro or 1s. If you aren't using a receiver pack, you can plug a fan or a transponder into that batt port on the receiver and it will get power through it.
