Well if you use high quality fuel and you really have smoke from the pipe ALL the time it really should not get at 300deg. Maybe your gauge was off or it was excessively rich on bottom and way to lean on top and it actually did not put out smoke on full throttle ? Also running it should not kill the compression completely in such a short period unless the engine gets dirt in. So are you 100% sure your filters were OK, neck had zip ties etc. ? It's really hard to believe you trash an engine in such a short perod of time w/o having some serious issues
