Grizz is 100% right..........an engine runs at a certain temp when tuned properly.
Change fuel, plug, air temp, humidity, elevation, or one of any other variables, and it will run at different temp. My R21 5 port runs 260F (in my 6T truggy) when tuned well. In a different truggy it might get more, or less, air flow, causing a different temp. Change gearing? Quite possibly a different temp.
Make sure it has good smoke. Set the low speed screw acurately and it will run like a ***** ape. Pre-warming before starting will give you longer engine life.
Pre-warming will lessen the pinch, causing less wear than a cold start.
