Its not a must to do anything but turn the lipo cutoff off. But depending on what you are running this system in you might want to slow it down a bit. There is settings for punch control, which just gives a slight "ramp" to the throttle so it is not that instant part-breaking-rip-your-tires-up power. You will have to experiment to find the right setting for your application. Also you can adjust the timing, to give you more bottom end torque or top end speed. For a heavy truck you will want a low timing setting, but for a street car running top speed you might want a higher setting. You may very well be happy with factory settings, they know what they are doing over there when they build them, but it is another option to help you get the perfect running RC.
