I was looking at one of the newer guys BMI this past weekend and noticed it did not have any tweak adjustment screws. Is this normal? I've never run a BMI and always thought that you should have some way to adjust the tweak of the car. He was having a difficult time getting it up to speed but I'm pretty sure it was the full size tires keeping it from driving better.
The last few years 1/12th drivers have been balancing their cars left to right so there is no need for a tweak adjustment. Then they just tighten the tweak screws or roll springs down until they just barely touch rather than using them for an actual tweak adjustment. Since the BMI uses a flex plate design which is held in place it doesn't need a tweak screw. Similarly the HB car which has an option to use a spacer on the front of the T-Plate instead of a pivot which would then not need a tweak screw.
