Took my new 2010 xray and the MG66 for their first race yesterday myself..buggy was sweet as expected..more lively than the mp777 and nothing broke or bent all day despite bloody awful wet muddy conditions most of the day.The Mg66 is now running with Mark's modified high and low speed needles for less sensitivity on the tuning as well as the xray tiny low profile filters and it was running waaaaay rich with them.As the work at our home track is yet to be finished I hadn't done more than fire it up in the garage to get it running beforehand. First tank was down from 12m40 to around 7minutes..oooops lean it way back and next tank was around the 9minute mark.Thats when the track announced no 3rd qualifying round due to the late start (cheers guys) so I missed bumping up to the semi's..leaned the motor a bit more and came in 2nd in the 1/4s so bumped up after all.then missed the final when the motor stalled in the last lap and dropped me 3 places to 6th.BOO!
Hopefully the forecast for an entire dry sunny week this week will allow me to retune the MG to it's previous performance.I can definitely report that mark's modded needles mean easier tuning. No more ultra sensitive 1 hour adjustments between perfect tune and not.Only thing was at the start the LSN needs to be almost an entire turn further in as a start position.I'll post better once I've got the tune sorted properly.
