7950 for steering and 7940 for throttle in truggy for me. I just like being on the safe/overkill side as far a torque on truggy steering. The 7940 would probably do the trick just fine, but why take the risk when you could have the 7950? I will tell you one thing, you won't be missing any speed with the 50, so don't fear that. There is a reason Drake chooses to run the 7950 for truggy steering and 7940 for everything else(truggy throttle and both buggy positions)
