Yes, first time on the raceday tray the cells. After first heat, discharge to 5.4v for 6 cells and 3.6 cells for 4 and let them air cool for 1-1/2 - 2 hours than recharge (if necessary). End of the day discharge them and let them rest till the next race day.

I thought Ni-MH batts are supposed to be stored charged (partially of fully)???
