unless we are talking about baked pure carbon rotors, anything "carbon fiber" brakes is a waste of time. when I had an Xray I used the option carbon rotors only to go back to steel, and eventually avids. carbon weave rotors generally use a epoxy resin as a binder that seems to make a poor braking surface. fiberglass rotors like losi or avid would use polyester binder that is harder and likely less in the composition vs the the glass fiber.

although I am using the hybrid whatever fiber-aluminum rotors from the RC8b with pretty pleasing results.

plain vanilla colored fiberglass is prolly your best option.
