You never know the new rotor may not have been as strong as the one you had.
Find an oval guy that has a gauss meter. They are kind of expensive but if you are interested in knowing what rotors are stronger this is what you need. It is much more important to the oval crowd so they seem to have this stuff. I don't know any road racer that has one.
Also if you know someone that works with magnets they can take and old rotor and re-gauss it for you. As long as the rotor is not heat damaged, the magnetic field can be strengthen and evened out. There are limits according to roar rules. But I have a friend who works with industrial magnets and has done this for me a couple of times.
