L7 engine sealant is intended for external use only. I recommend installing only 1 mount mount screw and mocking up the carb angle etc, then i pull the engine back out, make sure everything is tight and seal up around the carb base, pinch bolt ends, and HSN assembly. NOW when using the sealant you'll find its very thin and easy to work around (wicking) into the tight areas making a good seal. I'll actually apply an excessive amount in one spot and blow on it to help work into tight areas were i can't get the applicator tip. don't be afraid to apply what may look like to much, cause when it drys it shrinks down to a tight coating.
