yup but you don't need to buy a special tool! just use the one half of the diff and 1000 grit paper. get the sand paper wet with motor spray and make figure eights with the rings until you see the surface change color/shine. make sure to spray down the rings, diff balls and diff halfs well.
for fluids - the black associated or losi grease works great on the thrust and associated stealth is the best for the diff balls.
usually when the diff feels bad the problem is the trust bearing. after attempting to rebuild the diff w/ fluids your best bet is to replace the thrust. Paul L says he replaces thrusts about 7 times as frequent as he replaces the diff balls and rings.
