The X12 stock motors doesn't seem to work very well with ESCs that add lots of software timing. With X12, you have to a "a lot" more conservative in the ESC setting, motor timing and gearing, as compared to other motors. X12 also tends to run hotter than other motors, so again, you need to be very conservative.
I was under the impression those were conservative settings. Two people on this thread posted similar settings. The timing on the motor was set back as far as it would go with the 4 dot, the boost was set at only 5.
